Fighting Poet ran well in the mile and a half handicap at Lingfield today, finishing fourth beaten two and a half lengths by the winner.  Rab Havlin said that a more galloping track and a stronger pace would suit and we look forward to finding a suitable race for him soon, as he looks as though he should give the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate some fun over the coming weeks and months.

Totterdown is declared in the 1.57pm at Chepstow tomorrow.  Although he would probably prefer softer ground, he has run well on better ground in the past. It is a competitive event but Totterdown is in good form and once again Finn Lambert will ride claiming five pounds and we look forward to him giving the Adlestrop Club some more excitement.

Elfride is declared to run at Hereford on Sunday in the 4.20pm, a two miles five furlong novices handicap hurdle.  She ran well on her handicap debut at Exeter and has since had a wind operation.  The ground will be quicker on Sunday but if coping with conditions, she should be competitive as she appears to have improved physically since her last run and Finn Lambert takes the ride.

Thank you to everyone who made last night’s Adlestrop Club Question of Sport such a success.  With a hundred eager competitors, the evening was competitive as ever with the Pougatch team narrowly out doing the Inverdale and Ruscoe teams to claim victory. However of the non celebrity teams, it was my old school team from St Andrews, Leatherhead who were once again victorious and congratulations to them all.

We combined the quiz with a game of golf amongst my old school friends and teachers, emphasising once again what a wonderful education we have been blessed with.

Last night we launched a new syndicate in the ‘Dozen Dreamers’ supporting the Motor Neurone Disease Association.  Corrany will be running in the lucky purple and white colours through the spring, summer and autumn with half of prize money going to the excellent charity.

Delighted that one of the original members of the Dozen Dreamers, John Inverdale is joining the syndicate.  If you would be interested in joining him – full details can be found HERE.
