Off to Salisbury today to saddle Fighting Poet in the 5.25pm race – a mile and three quarters handicap. Once again apprentice Kaiya Fraser takes the ride claiming seven pounds and hopefully some cut in the ground will help his chances.
He ran well over on the course in his first race for us and hopefully he will put up a good performance for the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate.
We have two runners at Uttoxeter on Saturday with Organdi taking her chance in the three mile open handicap chase, whilst Elfride runs in the three mile novices handicap hurdle.
Tom Bellamy takes the ride on Organdi and hopefully they don’t have too much rain at the Staffordshire track. It is a very competitive race but it will hopefully be a good starting point for her summer campaign.
Elfride ran well at Exeter recently and Sean Bowen takes the ride on this occasion, as he has had success for her owners in the past. She has always shown enough ability to be competitive in these types of races and seems to be blessed with plenty of stamina.
We have entries for next week and with various weather forecasts hopefully we will find suitable ground for them, including Pop Mistress (pictured) who is ready to make her hurdling debut having shown much promise in bumpers.
A fantastic weekend of flat racing at Newmarket to look forward to along with the coronation. It will be a weekend for Britain to be proud of.
