Yesterday our stable jockey Danny Hiskett announced his retirement from the saddle.  Danny has been an integral part of the team at Adlestrop for many years and has ridden many winners for us.  He has an exemplary work ethic and developed into a fine jockey gaining praise from many good judges, including the brilliant J Francome.

We have many photos of him riding winners in the office and he was always stylish over an obstacle and rode with great common sense.  Although he will be greatly missed, he will continue to live in Adlestrop and help the team here at the stables.

On Saturday Danny marries Tiff Kelleway in our village church and decided it was a good time to end his riding career and begin a new venture.

Thanks to the ‘Jockeys Employment Training Scheme’ – Danny has been using his holidays over the last few months to train as a tree surgeon and no doubt his renowned athleticism will be seen to good effect.

We were hoping to go out on a winner yesterday with Run Rosie Run in the bumper at Warwick.  However unfortunately she reared over when going out onto the course and was unable to participate.  Fortunately both horse and rider are fine this morning.

On behalf of all at Adlestrop – we would like to thank him for all he has done for us over the years and wish him a great future with his family.
