Keep It Brief is declared in the 9pm at Kempton on Wednesday evening – a two mile all-weather handicap.  He won on the course for us last year over a shorter trip and hopefully this step up in distance will help him.  Jamie Spencer has been booked to ride and we look forward to hearing his opinion of him.

It was great to enter at team in the Carbine Club golf day at the Royal Mid Surrey on Friday.  The Carbine Club are a great supporters of the yard and it was a pleasure to take owners Ed Ware, Bob Scott and Colin Pocock along for the competition.  Delighted that we were the winning team, despite some inconsistent play.

Congratulations to Danny and Tiffany Hiskett who got married in Adlestrop church on Saturday.  The couple deserved a wonderful day and thanks to the weather and enthusiastic and happy guests – all went well.  We look forward to them continuing to contribute to the community here in Adlestrop.

Very sad to hear of the passing of the world’s greatest sportsman, Lester Piggott.  Although others may be close to being so, Lester wins due to the fact that he literally starved himself for half a century, yet from his teenage years through to his near sixties, he was quite simply the best.

From seeing him at the Derby start as a six-year-old boy, he inspired me to turn to horseracing for my profession and addiction.  I was fortunate enough to meet my hero on many occasions and can confirm he had a wonderful sense of humour and also privately, was so helpful to many in the game.

Although fiercely competitive, he still managed to create a reputation of being a universally loved genius and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his millions of friends and supporters.
