Keep It Brief ran with credit at Kempton on Wednesday evening.  Given a patient ride by Jamie Spencer, he came to challenge in the straight and was not beaten too far by the winner.  A possible drop back to a mile and three quarters on some good ground should benefit him, especially if the handicapper drops him a few pounds.

He has a competitive mark over hurdles which hopefully we can take advantage of in the future.

Derby week is always a busy one with kind invitations to both the Twelve Club and the Derby Dinner in London.  Looking forward to tomorrow’s blue riband and hoping that my each-way bet on Stone Age pays out.

As ever, trying to find a bit of value and possibly the David Probert ridden Hoo Ya Mal might run on in the final couple of furlongs to nick a place at a big price.  Whilst in today’s Oaks, Kawida looks good value at her price having run well on her reappearance in a group race in France.

The village of Adlestrop celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style last night, as we all reflected on how lucky the world is to have such a remarkable monarch who has led through example and dedication for so many decades.
