Both Manton Road and Sumatran Tiger ran pleasing races at Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening.  Although Manton was quicker out of the stalls without the headgear there is still plenty of room for improvement.  He travelled well throughout the race and Kieren Fox rode him for luck in the straight as going very wide would not have been a sensible thing to do.  He finished strongly to be beaten a nose for second place and not that far by the winner.  We will step him up in trip now in the hope that this gives him more of a chance from his slow starts.

Sumatran Tiger (pictured) had been off the course for quite a while and was always slightly behind the bridle in this strongly run contest.  However she stayed on well in the straight to finish fifth and will undoubtedly improve for a step up in trip.  Hopefully this race will have brought her on a bit and we look forward to her running on the flat and over hurdles in the coming months.

We have declared Six Blue in the mile and half handicap at Wolverhampton tomorrow evening.  It is a competitive race but she has run well on the course in the past and Callum Hutchinson takes the ride.

Talking Bear who made such a pleasing debut at Kempton recently, is declared in the in the seven furlong maiden at Newcastle on Saturday at 5.55pm.  Although the opposition include a couple with decent form, hopefully he will have come on for his run and Jonny Peate will ride.
