Two runners at Wolverhampton tomorrow evening with Manton Road (pictured) in the one mile 0-60 handicap at 7pm and Sumatran Tiger in the mile and three quarter 0-55 handicap run at 8.30pm.  We are leaving the headgear off Manton Road in the hope he breaks out of the stalls a bit quicker.  Undoubtedly this has not been helping his cause in his last two races and maybe increased vision will help.  Kieren Fox takes the rides and as ever, he will have a chance if things go right for him.

Sumatran Tiger had a couple of niggles over the summer and we were waiting for some better ground in order to run her.  Typically it rained too much at Windsor for her to take her chance today so we will see how she gets on on the all weather as this would increase her options.  Being a dual Jersey Derby winner, she certainly has the ability to run well if conditions suit her and hopefully this run will be the start of a flat and hurdling campaign this autumn.  Jonny Peate takes the ride and we look forward to her getting back on the course.

We have made entries for both Six Blue and Talking Bear this week.  The latter having made a pleasing debut at Kempton recently, is entered at Newcastle as there are not many other options for him at present.

Great to see Saffie Osborne be the first female to ride a Classic winner in Britain on Saturday in the St Leger.  A great moment for the sport and Saffie, along with many female riders, are a credit to their profession.  A very talented rider with a brain to go with it, Saffie has had a fantastic season and this victory is much deserved.  She kindly pointed out that in 2021 I told her she would be the first woman to ride a British Classic winner.   Although I will not start doing any horoscopes, having known Saffie and her family for many years, it was not hard to predict her achieving such a win.
