Monday 3rd April

On the way to Huntingdon to saddle Time Wise, Cosmic King and Next Lot all ridden by Ian Popham.

Time Wise is running on better ground having a wind operation.  She will be ridden more prominently today and let’s hope this brings about an improved performance.

We have been waiting for better ground with Cosmic King and hopefully this will return him to the form of his bumper run last summer.

Next Lot settled far better last time, thanks to a hood.  Hopefully he will run well here before he starts his chasing career.

Beautiful People is declared at Kempton tomorrow in the three mile, mares handicap hurdle.  Danny Hiskett takes five pounds off.  The ground, trip and course should suit her in what looks a competitive event.

Many of her owners attended the gallops on Saturday morning, to see both her and Organdi on the gallops.  Both mares were purchased in France on an Adlestrop Club trip three years ago.  Hopefully the partnership will be rewarded for their patience very soon as both mares certainly have ability.

Brave Helios did not appreciate the sticky ground at Uttoxeter on Saturday and I’m sure we will find some better going for him over the next few months.

I had an enjoyable day at Cocklebarrow point to point yesterday and it was great to see so many familiar faces attending a lovely day out.  Chairman Charlie Brooks certainly looked the part in his grandfather’s bowler hat, until after the last when he looked more like Freddie ‘Parrot Face’ Davies.
