The majority of the string are continuing to enjoy the wonderful weather out in the paddocks here in Adlestrop.  However it won’t be long before they come in from their holidays and we build them up for their autumn campaigns.

Delighted to attend Newmarket sales on Wednesday but it was frustrating to be outbid on numerous occasions.  However pleased to finally make a purchase last night and look forward to filling in blog readers with news of her next week.

Yesterday evening I was very pleased to attend the annual ‘All Party Racing and Bloodstock Charity Dinner’ at the House of Commons.  An historic day at the palace of Westminster but it was business as usual for those attending.

Huge gratitude to all for making this year’s charity Heros of which I am a Trustee.  Organised by Laurence and Annie Robertson, thanks to some attractive auction prizes a very tidy sum was raised for the excellent cause.

The dinner was a very happy and relaxed occasion with many of the great and good of the sport attending.  All present were in agreement that the welfare of the thoroughbred is paramount and that we should be proud of all the great work that goes on to give chances to retired racehorses and disadvantaged young people.
