Methodtothemagic found the ground too soft at Warwick on Tuesday following heavy rain.  However Sam Twiston-Davies reported she jumped and travelled well until three out when she was unable to quicken on the surface.  She is a good moving mare and I’m sure we will find some nicer going and hopefully she will soon be eligible for handicaps which will increase her options.  She certainly has the size and scope to jump fences as well.

Elfride had a tendency to hang in the back straight at Chepstow on Wednesday and Finn Lambert reported that because of this, she did not jump with the fluency that she has at home.  She unseated Finn and the third last when she appeared to be starting to stay on having been out paced.  We may have to run her right-handed if not finding too much amiss.

With Nottingham called off, Urban Champion has a couple of options next week at Chelmsford and Kempton.  We were looking to give him some more experience on the turf but now we will have to resort to the all-weather but he appears to have come on for his Doncaster debut.

Corrany went to Ascot sales yesterday as the Carbine Club of London syndicate has come to the end of it’s term.  As he is such a favourite in the yard and has provided some fun this summer in staying chases, we have bought him back and will re-syndicate him for 2023 when I am sure he will continue to provide plenty of excitement.
