Fighting Poet (pictured) once again ran a cracking race at Lingfield to finish third beaten a length and a half by the winner.  With a fast early pace, Jonny Peate was unable to dictate the pace up front but allowed Poet to find his feet at halfway before moving onto the heels of the leaders turning for home and with a bit more company in the final furlong, may well have got his head in front.   We look forward to finding another suitable opportunity for him soon and he has turned out to be a real star for the Adlestrop Club.

Dora Vita could ideally do with another furlong to be seen at her best and we will look for a suitable race and ride her a bit more prominently in future.  All things considered, she ran well in this contest.  Whilst Express Train is improving with each run and is probably not best suited by Lingfield’s sharp track.  We will look for something for him at Southwell and hope that we can find a race in the autumn on some easier ground on a straighter track which would probably see him at his best.

Manton Road is declared in the one mile 0-60 handicap at Lingfield run at 3.20pm tomorrow.  The handicapper has put him up four pounds for his recent win but he appears in good form and will hopefully put up another competitive effort.  Callum Hutchinson rides.

This year’s National Racehorse Week starts on Saturday – it is the sixth year of the industry celebrating the racehorse and delighted that over 16,000 places are available for the public to come and view thoroughbreds throughout Britain.  With many yards, studs and retraining centres opening, there will be plenty of opportunities for the sport to show the world all the love and care that racehorses receive every day of the year.
