Corrany ran another excellent second at Worcester on Monday, once again finishing strongly up the straight.  Despite Finn Lambert’s urgings, he appeared to be fairly one paced but with lots of stamina and we look forward to him going one better soon.

Keep it Brief appears to want further than two miles following his run at Uttoxeter yesterday.  Tom Bellamy reported that having gone fast enough early on, he was in top gear most of the way but stayed on up the straight and we will look for something over a further distance soon.

Yesterday it was great to welcome ‘Go Racing Green’ – a group set up by Debbie Matthews that brings people and horses together to support mental wellbeing.  It’s always great to welcome new visitors to the yard and no better week than National Racehorse Week to bring people together.  We look forward to them visiting again in the future.

Yesterday we laid to rest the wonderful Jinnie Holt.  Having lived in Adlestrop for many many decades, she made a huge contribution to not only the village but many others outside.  A sister to Peter Walwyn and therefore related to many other racing greats include Fulkes Walwyn and Johnson-Houghton – she was a brilliant artist and sculptor having been commissioned to do Special Cargo, Dawn Run and Mill Reef amongst others.

A great country woman, who adored the Cotswolds and all hunting country.  From breeding budgerigars for Her Majesty The Queen, to being church warden for four decades, she was quite simply an inspiration to all and her sense of fun and lust for life will live long in our memory.
