Iron Horse (pictured) is declared in the 12.20pm at Doncaster tomorrow – a three miles hands and heels handicap hurdle. He was meant to be running at Exeter today but with the meeting being abandoned he has been re-routed. Hopefully Doncaster will be on as there is an inspection in the morning.
Harry Atkins takes the ride claiming three pounds. Harry rode out for us in his school holidays when he was much younger and used to work weekends for us in his early teens and we look forward to him having his first ride for our yard. His mum Vicki, works for us and will be leading up tomorrow.
It’s great that all of Iron Horse’s owners will be present as Eustace and Carol Theodore and Karen Anderson have travelled over from America for a few days. Whatever the result I am sure they will enjoy seeing their homebred on the track.
Lizzie Rey showed enough potential in her race at Ludlow on Friday to suggest she will be competitive once in handicap company and like many others, will appreciate better going as well. Tom Bellamy reported that she had a good attitude and stamina appears to be her forte.
We have entries at the weekend for Totterdown, Lesser and Urban Champion. Lesser has been off the track for quite a while and we look forward to him getting back on the course with his unbeaten record and rewarding his owner’s patience.
