Mattie Ross (pictured) ran with great credit in the mares maiden hurdle at Hereford yesterday finishing fourth on ground that was too sticky for her and on a track that was too sharp.  She is now qualified for handicaps and hopefully we can find a race on a more suitable track for her in future.

With Tom Bellamy unable to do the weight on Elfride, Sam Twiston-Davies stood in for him but unfortunately the mare was too enthusiastic at the first and came down.  Apart from a cut on her heel she appears fine, as does Sam and we hope to get her back to winning ways soon.

Lizzie Rey runs today at Ludlow in the ‘Luke Watson Memorial’ maiden hurdle run at 3.20pm.    Luke was a popular member of the team at Adlestrop Stables and we have our cricket match in memory of him each year.  Lizzie ran on well up the straight at Doncaster on her hurdling debut recently but was a little green early on.  Hopefully she has learned from the experience and looks like a staying hurdler in the making.

Unfortunately Sandown has been called off tomorrow where conditions would have suited Totterdown so we will look for another opportunity for him.
