We have two runners at Hereford on Thursday – Mattie Ross is declared in the mares maiden hurdle run at 2.28pm with Sam Twiston-Davies onboard, whilst Elfride is declared in the handicap hurdle run at 3.28pm. She was due to run at Uttoxeter on Sunday but with the meeting being abandoned she has been re-routed here so hopefully the track won’t be too sharp for her.
We have entries for Lizzie Rey at Ludlow on Friday, Totterdown at Sandown on Saturday and Shibuya Song will hopefully find some better ground at Taunton on Monday. The rains keep coming and we have never known the ground so saturated here in Adlestrop but hopefully some drier weather is forecast.
Happy New Year to you all. It’s wonderful to see so many of our supporters being recognised in the New Years Honours list. Congratulations to Dame Jilly Cooper, along with owners Jeff Stelling and John Ryley. All three are extremely worthy recipients as they are the finest in their field. Also congratulations to Richard Linley who has devoted his life to racing both as a jockey and as a racecourse inspector. Shrewd and very capable both in and out of the saddle, he has left high standards in his wake.
A great way to celebrate the New Year would be to attend our Adlestrop Club Question of Sport Quiz which takes place on Thursday 18th January in aid Motor Neurone Disease Association. Please let us know if you are able to come along.
