Sheila Nash is declared at Worcester on Monday in the three mile handicap hurdle run at 5.25pm. She has shown good form over course and distance in the past and hopefully she will have come on for her recent debut for us. We will leave the hood off this time and Daryl Jacob who has ridden her many times before takes the ride.
We had Methodtothemagic entered at the same meeting just in case the handicapper overreacted to her win, however we will look towards finding a suitable race for her towards the end of the month.
On Wednesday we had a visit from some students from Heros Education. It was great to show them around the horses and discuss the many details that go into training racehorses. They seemed to enjoy the experience as they asked many interesting questions during the morning. We look forward to welcoming more students from Heros in the future and are once again delighted that the Adlestrop Club will be sponsoring their annual awards on their graduation day later this month.
Although there are not many runners in the Eclipse at Sandown today – it will be fascinating to see Paddington take on Emily Upjohn at the Surrey track. This Group One is the first occasion where the Classic three-year-olds take on the older horses and with Paddington stepping up in trip and Emily Upjohn going down in trip, the betting is very close.
Being a great fan of the mare, I hope once again she will show her wonderful ability although the Coolmore colt was incredibly impressive at Ascot.
