Dora Vita showed she needs a bit further having stayed on well up the straight at Wolverhampton last Monday.  Six Blue attempted to get an easy lead in the mile and a half maiden but showed enough promise to suggest she will be competitive in handicaps over a little bit shorter in the future.

Manton Road appeared to hold his breath in the one mile handicap at Southwell on Wednesday and we will investigate this before his next run.

Around 35 members of the Adlestrop Club came for a morning on the gallops last Saturday.  It was a beautiful morning and all enjoyed breakfast rolls before watching the horses on the gallops and a walk around the yard.  The Club has Fighting Poet entered at Windsor on Thursday and hopefully he will make his seasonal debut there.  He would probably prefer courses such as Brighton or Epsom but with the Sussex course having ground issues at present, we will hopefully find a race for him there once racing resumes.

We also have Aajej (pictured) entered on Friday at Ascot in the two mile apprentices handicap.   He was purchased in February for owner Adam Jeavons and we look forward to him giving Adam some fun this summer before he goes hurdling in the autumn.

Congratulations to owner Bunny Roberts who won our ‘Five the Follow’ Competition.  Bunny has a good record in the contest and she wins a meal for two at the excellent Kings Head in Bledington.  Many thanks to all who entered. The final results can be viewed HERE.

Congratulations to George Boughey, Billy Loughnane and all connections on Bow Echo’s brilliant victory in the 2000 Guineas on Saturday.  Hopefully this victory will encourage people of their generation to get involved in the sport and there was a great reception following the colt’s victory.  Billy Loughnane has always shown great talent and attitude to his profession and his dedicated, grounded approach will be a great asset to the sport in the coming years.
