Dora Vita ran a very pleasing third at Leicester on Wednesday. Callum Hutchinson said she would improve for stepping up in trip and she will now head to Windsor next Monday in the mile and a quarter classified. Hopefully she will be getting her head in front soon for her syndicate the Aspirationals.
Fighting Poet gave Delphi Parkinson a safe ride in the amateur handicap at Wolverhampton on Tuesday. He was unable to quicken with the leaders on this sharp track but the experience would have done Delphi plenty of good and hopefully we can find some more suitable conditions for Poet in the coming weeks.
We have Baron Wagstaff and Manton Road entered at Wolverhampton on Thursday and both look on course to take their chance.
Delighted to play in owner Rob Dalziel’s (founder of Beach Financial Advisors ) golf day on Friday at The Astbury in Bridgenorth. There has been very little time to practice my golf in 2026 but it was great to catch up with the Dalziel family and we look forward to Neeps And Tatties giving them plenty of fun and success this coming season.
I am not going to Goodwood this year which is my favourite racecourse and race meeting. However lots to look forward to watching on tv this coming week.
Sad news for the Lambourn area with the passing of Lambourn legend Johnny Ferrand. Affectionately known as ‘Johnny The Fish’ – he had been very much part of village life for many decades and was a great friend to many. An excellent and welcoming landlord and all round good egg, he will be much missed and certainly not forgotten in the valley of the racehorse.
