Flying Dragon pulled a bit too hard early on at Bath on Saturday and therefore didn’t get home towards the end of the race.  However he wasn’t beaten far and Georgia Dobie suggested he might settle better in front over a shorter trip.  We will hopefully find a suitable race soon and we look forward to the handicapper dropping him a few pounds.

With many of the string now out in the paddocks enjoying the sunshine and grass, it’s that time of the year when we spruce up the stables ready for when they return from their holidays.  We have a nice group of horses to run over the next couple of months, both on the flat and over hurdles and plenty to keep us busy.

Thank you to all who made Saturday evening’s charity concert in Adlestrop church such a success.  The Weybridge Male Voice Choir came to sing and we raised nearly £3000 for some great causes.  One of members of the choir is my old P.E. teacher, Chris Wilson who has been a great influence, not only to me but to my fellow school friends and it was wonderful to welcome him to the village along with the choir and their wives.

It was also a delight to welcome some of my old school friends who came to help and support the evening.  Thanks to their generosity and their respect for our old teacher, they sponsored the drinks reception.

The village looked at it’s beautiful best on Saturday evening and we look forward to similar weather on our village open day on the 26th June.  How lucky we are to be based in such a beautiful part of Britain.
