Three runners at Huntingdon today with Alright chap, Fine Theatre and Methodtothemagic.  With rain forecast for most of the morning, hopefully the ground won’t ride too soft.

Alright Chap probably needs to be in handicap company before being competitive, whilst Fine Theatre should enjoy the ground more than he did at Uttoxeter.  He wears blinkers today which he ran well in when trained in Ireland.

We were hoping for good ground for Methodtothemagic as she has run her best races on this surface, so hopefully conditions will suit her better today than on her last appearance at the track.  Finn Lambert rides all three.

Lizzie Rey is declared at Southwell on Wednesday in the mares bumper.  She is a half-sister to Pop Mistress and is a big, attractive mare by Kingston Hill who has taken time to mature.  Hopefully she will show promise for her patient owners and local conditional jockey Bradley Roberts takes the ride having ridden a double over the weekend.

It was great to welcome Jess Kent and friends to the gallops on Saturday morning.  Jess was the lucky winner of the prize draw at our National Racehorse Week open day last September.  Being horse lovers but not necessarily close followers of horseracing, it was hopefully an interesting and entertaining morning for all.  We celebrated the love of the racehorse with a glass of champagne after a healthy breakfast roll and look forward once again to this years National Racehorse Week which takes place from 9th – 17th September .
