Shibuya Song ran pleasingly yesterday at Lingfield in the two mile handicap.  At the back of the field due to a strong gallop early on, Kaiya Fraser asked for her effort turning for home and she stayed on well up the straight finishing fifth, being beaten some six lengths by the winner.  She will probably benefit from slightly easier ground to slow the race up a bit for her and I am sure she will provide a lot of fun for her owners over the coming months as she is a tough, genuine filly.

We have a few entries next week on the flat and over jumps including Fighting Poet and Elfride and although most of the horses are on their holidays there is still plenty to keep us busy over the summer months.

Derby week is always busy with kind invitations to both the Derby dinner and the Twelve Club dinner in London this week.  A fascinating Oaks and Derby and let us hope they take place without any interference from protestors.  As ever, always looking for Ballydoyle outsiders in the Classics and will have a small wager on Be Happy in the Oaks and Adelaide River in the Derby.  However probably the best bet is for Frankie Dettori to ride a winner on his final ride in the Derby and it not being the only ‘Arrest’ on the day.
