Once again Organdi had no luck with the weather at Wincanton yesterday thanks to persistent rain once she was declared. It is ironic how often this has happened to her in her career as she likes a fast surface. With the Wincanton ground taking the intense rain very well, it was unfortunate that not long before her race the heavens opened once again and she did not enjoy the softened surface. Sam Twiston-Davies quite rightly looked after her and hopefully there will be another opportunity for her in the coming weeks.
On Wednesday we had our annual Adlestrop Club golf day where members of the Club and other owners came together to play for the ‘Richard Phillips Birthday Classic’ trophy. This year we raised money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and despite the weather a good day was had by all.
My team included owner Bob Scott, Mark Pougatch and John Francome – so as you can imagine there was not a dull moment throughout the round and many thanks to all who made it such an enjoyable day. Congratulations to the winning team of Rob and Max Dalziel and John and Dale Hodgkins who won comfortably. We look forward to them trying to retain the trophy next year.
