Keep It Brief ran a pleasing race last night in the Ladies Derby at Epsom.  Given a tidy ride by Georgia King, he stayed on well over a trip probably short of his best, to be beaten less than six lengths by the winner.  I am sure if we find a race where conditions suit a bit better trip and ground wise, he will be competitive for his patient owner Ed Ware.

We have Corrany entered next week at Uttoxeter and although we do not have many to run at present,  the ones that do, look and are performing well.

This week is ‘Racing Staff Week’ where we celebrate and acknowledge the wonderful people who work within the sport to make the lives of both horses and humans that much better.

It is a great initiative by Racing Welfare, as these are the people who really make a difference to so many and it is great to see so many people contributing to the week.

This morning we celebrated by having breakfast rolls from the local café, which as we are so health conscious, is a rarity – but much enjoyed and much deserved.

Splendid to see this year’s National Racehorse Week launched on Monday.  The event takes place between the 10th and 18th September and for the second year running – all in the industry have the opportunity to celebrate the racehorse and all that they do for us and also emphasising all that we do for them.

Once again Adlestrop Stables will be doing our bit and will be opening to the public on Sunday 11th September from 9am – midday.   You can now book your places online here https://nationalracehorseweek.uk/

This year, we are keen that as many people as possible who have never visited a racing yard can attend – so please do bring a friend who would like to experience all that goes on behind the scenes.
