Bluenose Belle is declared in the mares handicap hurdle run at 4pm at Taunton tomorrow. With weather conditions as they are, hopefully there will not be too much rain as she definitely prefers good ground. She ran well in her come back race at Ludlow having won her two previous handicap hurdles. Finding her favoured ground at this time of year is always difficult but hopefully luck is on our side.
The Last Drop (pictured) is declared in the mares handicap hurdle run at 3.08pm at Southwell on Friday. Hopefully racing will go ahead and the ground will certainly suit her better than on her last run at Uttoxeter.
She ran well on better ground the time before over a shorter trip and is handicapped to be competitive when conditions are in her favour.
Like many other yards throughout the country, our staff are doing a wonderful job of keep the horses warm and healthy in these testing conditions. Thanks to a lot of hard work, including salting yards and roads, harrowing gallops and outdoor school, the horses have been fully exercised during this cold spell.
Very much looking forward to our annual Question of Sport Quiz which takes place on Thursday 19th February. This year we are raising money for the Hunt Family Fund – a charity set up by racing commentator John Hunt and his daughter Amy. Delighted that many of John’s broadcasting colleagues will be supporting in the evening. Please book your places soon!
