Fighting Poet is declared in the 4.10pm at Brighton on Thursday, the 0-50 mile and half classified stakes.  Being rated 50, conditions should suit him although ideally he could do with a bit more cut in the ground.  Jason Watson is booked to ride and hopefully they will go a nice pace early on as this would suit him.  Having won twice at the course before, he enjoys the Sussex air and appears in good form after a recent break.  Hopefully he will give the Adlestrop Club another exciting run.

Sumatran Tiger (pictured) ran with great credit at Bath on Friday evening finishing fifth in the competitive mile and a half handicap.  Adam Wedge who has been riding on the flat this summer, was very pleased with her and said that she would come on for this run having been off the track for quite a while.

Adam thought that a step up in trip would suit her and there looks a suitable option for her in early September.  Having been a dual Derby winner in Jersey, it was pleasing to see ‘Tiggy’ showing plenty of competitive spirit in this race and we look forward to her running on the flat before going hurdling later in the year for owner Bunny Roberts.

Delighted to support Jim Old’s Charity Golf Day at Marlborough Golf Course yesterday afternoon.  I was kindly invited by Baileys Horse Feeds who supply our yard and the company was better than the golf – but as ever, a large amount of money was raised for the Injured Jockeys Fund.  Well done to Jim and all his team for organising another enjoyable day.  Once again victory went to the AP McCoy & M Fitzgerald team who continue to be better handicapped than a stoutly bred Prescott three-year-old.

Looking forward to our annual cricket match at Adlestrop on Sunday 17th August at 2pm, when a Phillips XI take on the local side in aid of Racing Welfare in memory of Luke Watson.  Please do come and support the day if you can.  Details  HERE.

We only a couple of shares are left now in our exciting two-year-old Dream Ahead filly who continues to please us at home.  With her half-brother winning at the weekend, her pedigree continues to be enhanced and she is a half-sister to five winners.  Full details about the filly are HERE
