We have declared Sumatran Tiger (pictured near side) at Bath on Friday in the mile and a half handicap run at 8.05pm.  This will be her first race for us having previously raced in France and Jersey.  She has won the Jersey Derby twice and is a charming mare who appears in good form.  Adam Wedge who we know well, has been booked to ride as he is light enough to ride on the flat during the summer.  Although she will need a bit further, this will be a good starting point for her and we have the option of going hurdling in the future as well, so as long as we have some rain between now and Friday we will let her take her chance.

Mostly Mozart appeared not to get the trip at Windsor on Saturday evening.  We will do a few tests on him before dropping him back to a mile and a quarter.  He shows plenty of ability at home and Sean D Bowen reported he showed plenty of speed before appearing to run out of stamina.

Glorious Goodwood has always been a special meeting and there is much to look forward to in the coming days, however Trueshan’s fatal injury yesterday would have been felt by all racing fans.  Commiserations go to all connections and those that work with the thoroughbred twenty four hours a day will feel the loss but understand that such injuries are rare on a racetrack and that Trueshan was surrounded by care and love throughout his successful life.
