Little Big Kev was travelling very strongly into the straight at Uttoxeter on Sunday before fading after the second last.  It transpired that unfortunately he gained a stress fracture of his right cannon bone.  This has successfully been operated on with the placement of two screws into the fracture and hopefully his prognosis for racing is a good one.  He should be back in training in the autumn and we look forward to him realising his potential both over hurdles and fences as he clearly has plenty of ability.

We don’t have many entries at present but we will enter Elfride (pictured) in various races next week and will possibly put some headgear on her.  Hopefully the rains will continue as she would certainly prefer some ease in the ground.

With many of the horses on holiday this time of year is very much a time to clean, paint and tidy the stables for the season ahead.

The Epsom Derby is not too far away now and although dominated by big yards as ever, it still looks a fascinating contest and there are plenty of decisions to be made between now and the big day.  Looking forward to coming up with an outsider who may run into the first three.  I have a feeling that Lambourn and Puppet Master are the two to back each way from Ballydoyle.  At 20-1 and 50-1 I think they will be shorter on the day.
