Bluenose Belle is declared at Kempton this evening in the fillies mile and half handicap run at 7.30pm. She has taken a bit of time to come back to herself following a stress fracture in the winter and hopefully she will strip a bit fitter this time with Silvestre de Sousa onboard. She is up against some unexposed three-year-olds on this occasion which may be a hard task, however she shows plenty of talent at home and we hope for a positive run.
The ground was too soft for Roody Toody on Monday and she is now entered at Chepstow next Tuesday. Whilst Shibuya Song is entered at Worcester on Sunday. The handicapper put Fighting Poet up three pounds for his win and we will hopefully return to Brighton with him on the 9th September.
It was great to spend the weekend in Jersey celebrating Paul Roberts 80th birthday. Husband of owner Bunny, I have known the family for many decades and I enjoyed spending some time on the island including a visit to the races on Monday.
Les Landes is a beautiful track and it was good to see David Bass riding there (pictured) who started his career here in Adlestrop.
