A great day for the Adlestrop Club yesterday with Fighting Poet finally getting his head in front at Brighton under a fine ride from Billy Loughnane. Following on from his excellent second at Epsom, Billy settled Poet early on before coming with a sustained challenge in the straight having free wheeled down the Brighton hill.
Staying on well in the final furlong he nabbed victory close home to give the Adlestrop Club a memorable day. It was so good to have so many members in attendance and we look forward to Fighting Poet giving us more fun in the future.
Brighton racecourse has been a lucky track for us in the past as although we have not had many runners at the Sussex course, Averted View won a Listed race there for us. The racecourse team looked after us very well and a visit is highly recommended.
Delighted to welcome a new arrival yesterday morning in the shape of high-class chaser Idas Boy. Purchased at the recent Gigginstown dispersal online sale by top agent Tom Malone in conjunction with Barnsley Bloodstock, this ten year-old will be aimed at the 2025 Aintree Grand National.
A syndicate has been set up by owner and old school friend John Rosbotham with twelve shares available. It has a been a boyhood dream for John and I to have a runner together in the world’s greatest race and Idas Boy looks an ideal opportunity to deliver that dream. He will race in the ‘Dozen Dreamers’ name and more details can be found HERE.
