Shibuya Song is declared in the conditional jockeys handicap hurdle over three miles at Southwell tomorrow. With the race being for riders who have not ridden more than twenty winners, Harry Atkins takes the ride. Although she could do with a more galloping track she certainly has the ability to have an each-way chance in such a contest and we have left the headgear off her on this occasion.
We have entered Sumatran Tiger at Stratford on Monday. She pleased us on her flat debut having previously been successful in Jersey and France. She appears to enjoy her jumping and although she has run over hurdles in the past, she will need a couple more runs before having a handicap mark. Hopefully she will provide plenty of fun for owner Bunny Roberts this winter.
We also have Fighting Poet and Mostly Mozart entered at Brighton on Tuesday. Poet will revert back to a mile and a quarter whilst Mozart is entered in the mile and a half handicap after pleasing us on his last run at Bath.
It was great to have showjumper Johnathan Bowman in on Monday to help with jumping the horses in the outdoor school. We very much enjoy him coming in to help give the horses plenty of practice and confidence over obstacles and I am sure such exercises will prove a great help on the racecourse throughout the season.
