Delighted for everyone to see Fighting Poet once again get his head in front at Brighton yesterday and give members of the Adlestrop Club another memorable day.  Given a fine ride by the promising and in-form Sean Dylan Bowen, he challenged inside the final furlong to win by a head.  Sean thought the track suited him as the uphill finish played to his stamina off a strong pace.

There are a couple of races suitable for him back at the Sussex track next month and we look forward to seeing how he comes out of the race before deciding on his next target.  Once again it was great to have so many members of the Adlestrop Club in attendance and what an advert he is for National Racehorse Week, having attended an after school club the week before and being the subject of our ‘guess the weight of the horse’ competition at our open morning on Saturday.

Shibuya Song is entered in a couple of staying hurdles at Fontwell and Warwick next week and we look forward to finding a suitable contest for her to follow up on her Worcester success.

So pleased to once again welcome Pete Langford and his granddaughter Lillia back to Adlestrop for a charity concert on Sunday 20th October.  Pete has been a great friend and supporter of the yard for many years and is known to many as the lead singer of the brilliant Barron Knights.  Please do support the event if you can – it was such fun last year.
