Santa Sabina (pictured) has been declared in the maiden hurdle over two miles at Worcester tomorrow run at 7.40pm. She was rather green on her debut over course and distance and although she could do with a bit further in time, there are not many suitable races around at present. Hopefully she will have learned from her debut and can progress as we have shown a lot of patience with her. She will wear a hood and Finn Lambert will take the ride.
Shibuya Song is declared at Newton Abbot on Friday in the three and a quarter mile handicap hurdle run at 7.20pm. We were pleased with her run at Stratford as the track was on the sharp side for her and although Newton Abbot is another sharp track there are not many races for her elsewhere at present. However a lot of rain is forecast and if the ground softens we will look for something for her in early July as she definitely prefers top of the ground.
She will wear a visor which will hopefully make her travel better in her races and once again Finn is onboard for The Firebirds syndicate.
Sad to hear of the passing of Peter Easterby. Like his brother Mick, he was a true one-off who from a very humble start ended up conquering both the jump and flat codes with household names such as Night Nurse and Sea Pigeon. He also managed to own most of Yorkshire through graft, craft and amazing horsemanship. However his greatest legacy will be his family as they have inherited many of his qualities and will undoubtedly continue to train, ride, breed and own winners for decades to come.
