Express Train (pictured) runs this evening at Lingfield in the six furlong handicap run at 6.48pm. Although he needed the outing, he pleased us on his debut for us and hopefully he will have come on for that run although he has a poor draw today. Once again Rab Havlin takes the ride and we look forward to finding more out about this son of Invincible Spirit after today’s race.
Talking Bear is declared in the one mile novice stakes at Kempton tomorrow run at 7.20pm. A big, backward son of Kodi Bear, he has a nice pedigree and has always shown promise at home. He unfortunately had some colic issues earlier in the year but thanks to the patience and dedication of his owners he looks ready to make his debut in this event. It is a hot contest but hopefully his rider Callum Hutchinson will give him a good education and I am sure he will improve as the season progresses.
Dora Vita failed to stay the extra two furlongs in the classified stakes at Windsor last night. Jonny Peate said she travelled into the race nicely with three to run but appeared to run out of stamina in the final furlong. Having shown promise at Leicester on her previous run, we will return to a staying one mile event in future and she has certainly shown enough on the track to warrant being competitive once conditions are in her favour.
Very much looking forward to our annual charity cricket match on Sunday 16th August. This year a Phillips XI will be taking on a racing team, so please do come and support if you can. Once again we will be raising money for Racing Welfare and will have a charity raffle and auction so please bring cash.
