Totterdown and Lizzie Rey both run at Chepstow today in the 2.45pm and 3.55pm respectively.  Totterdown is stepping up in trip and hopefully will appreciate the softer ground although the race looks very competitive.  Lizzie Rey drops back in trip in the mares novices hurdle and although she would appreciate better ground, the experience will be of benefit to her.  Finn Lambert rides both claiming five pounds.

Urban Champion appeared to switch off too much in the mile and a quarter handicap at Wolverhampton yesterday.  Kieran Shoemark thought we should probably take the hood off him now and run him on a more galloping track like Kempton in the future.

Thanks to the generosity of owner Rob Dalziel, I was a guest of his at Cheltenham on Saturday.  A fascinating day of racing with many festival prospects on trial.  Have pencilled a few in the notebook for March including Lucky Place who was runner up in the two and half mile novices hurdle.  He travels well and could be interesting in a handicap should connections take that route.  Whilst in Ireland, Ndaawi – a son of Cracksman with good flat form for Andrew Balding looks the right type for the Boodles.
