Having looked for some good, safe ground for Lizzie Rey – the ground was softer than she would have liked at Ludlow yesterday.  Finn Lambert reported she made a bit of a gurgle so we will now put her on an overground scope and investigate the problem.  We always thought that three miles on good ground would suit her and hopefully we can sort out the issue and she can give the Adlestrop Club some fun this season.

Despite the rain, our gallop get together on Saturday morning went well.  With weather warnings issued for Storm Bert, wisely a few changed their plans however we still welcomed around thirty supporters who enjoyed breakfast rolls before watching the horses on the gallops.

There was a great weekend of racing in Britain and Ireland.  The John Durkan Chase once again run in memory of our great friend proved to be a scintillating contest with Fact To File just getting the better of Spillane’s Tower in a thrilling finish.

Dual Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champ ran a cracker in third over trip too short for him and hopefully all will stay safe and sound for the coming season.  If they do we are in for a treat and Fact To File has been my fancy for the Gold Cup since last season and certainly looks the new kid on the block.
