Sheila Nash (pictured) runs in the 8.45pm at Worcester this evening – the mares handicap hurdle over three miles. It’s a race that she won last year and with Daryl Jacob up in Scotland, Adam Wedge has been booked to ride.
She ran well last time over course and distance and will hopefully once again be competitive as she looks well and appears in good form at home.
On Saturday The Aspirationals syndicate got together for a lunch in memory of Alright Chap who we recently lost. He was a very popular gelding who had immense character and we were looking forward to him giving us plenty of fun and success on the racetrack over the coming season. However he succumbed to a very unusual injury which was very sad for all. Saturday was an opportunity to remember this fine animal and we have planted a tree in his memory. All those associated with him will remember him fondly and it emphasises how much love there is for these wonderful horses.
Saturday’s King George was as ever, a splendid example of flat racing at its best with Hukum just getting the edge over Westover. A great result for Owen Burrows and Lambourn and commiserations to the runner up who has been campaigned so boldly throughout the year. The ground may well have had an effect on the result but the first two home are fine examples of the breed and the patience needed in their training.
