We have declared Fighting Poet for the mile and a quarter novice at Salisbury on Thursday.  He is a recent purchase who has shown promise on the flat and after this run will have a flat handicap mark.  He will strengthen in time and looks a useful dual-purpose prospect.

We have Flying Dragon entered at Newbury on Friday and he looks on schedule to run there.  Having won last time out for us, he has been off with a splint over the winter and we look forward to him returning to the turf on Friday.  Still waiting for the rains to come but they always do in the end and I am sure our patience will be rewarded.

Off to Tweenhills Stud this afternoon for an Adlestrop Club visit.  It is some years since we previously visited the delightful stud run by my old pal, David Redvers.  We look forward to seeing the many quality animals at the farm and I am sure those in the Club who are attending will have an interesting time.

It has been a while since the Adlestrop Club have had a runner but Tulane (photo above) is on course to run in the Club colours next week.

Very annoyed with myself that I have not put more money on Stone Age, having been keen on the colt for quite a while and he is in most of my horses to follow lists.  He was most impressive on Sunday and looks to have a high cruising speed and will hopefully win the blue riband in Slip Anchor style.
