Roody Toody will hopefully come on for her run at Chepstow on Tuesday and is entered again at Leicester next week. We have a few entries next week with Fighting Poet in at Brighton on Monday which is the course he was victorious at on his last run. Whilst Bluenose Belle and Shibuya Song have been entered on Wednesday at Lingfield and Worcester respectively. They all appear to have come out of their races well and hopefully will continue to stay in good form.
Congratulations to Hollie Doyle on riding her thousandth winner this week. Hollie is exemplary in her approach to life and is a first class jockey with a great work ethic and a grounded demeanour. I am sure it won’t be long before there is a female champion jockey on the flat. Hollie has ridden a French Classic winner and we look forward to her doing the same in Britain. Also congratulations to Heros Charity who won the BBC Berkshire Make A Difference Award in the ‘animal’ category. Grace Muir was on hand with her team to collect the much deserved award and all those connected with the charity are rightly proud of the difference it is making to so many people and horses.
National Racehorse Week begins this Saturday and runs until the 15th September. It is the fourth year of the event and I am so pleased that once again so many people are celebrating the racehorse.
Ninety venues across Britain will open their doors to the public with not only racing yards but studs and retraining centres joining in on the celebration. There are also more than fifty community events taking place with both retired and active racehorses visiting schools, hospitals and care homes. Everyone at Adlestrop Stables is looking forward to joining in with the week long celebration and we look forward to plenty of visitors throughout the week including at our own open day on Saturday 14th.
