Mostly Mozart travelled rather too well in the first part of the race at Bath on Monday.  Delphi sensibly held him together before the pace quickened in the last half mile.  Mozart stayed on in the straight after being a bit outpaced and hopefully we can now go hurdling with him as he appears to like soft ground and have the necessary stamina.

We have Fighting Poet entered at Lingfield on Monday in the mile and a quarter handicap on the all-weather.  It has been a while since he has run on this surface and hopefully this will suit him better than the easy ground he has found at Brighton recently.

Swift Jet is entered at Ffos Las on Tuesday in the two and a half mile handicap hurdle.  Very much a chasing type, he will probably need a test of stamina and this race should be a good starting point for him for the season ahead if the ground isn’t too soft.

Thank you to everyone who supported our evening in celebration of Captain Tim Forster last night.  A joint venture between the Adlestrop Club and Venatour Racing, there was a full house at Dunkertons in Cheltenham. Venatour organise racing trips throughout the world and we are hoping the take the Adlestrop Club to the Pardubice next year with them.

Our panel of Graham Thorner, Hwyel Davies, Luke Harvey, Fergal O’Brien and Henry Daly covered the years of the Captain’s remarkable career.  Many a fine story was told emphasising the incredible respect for this unique character that those who worked for him possess.  Included in the audience were his former staff from over forty years ago, plus amateurs and assistants including Mark Smyly, Kim Bailey, Jonathan Portman and Christopher Price.

Delighted to raise money over £2000 for Heros on the night on what was undoubtedly a memorable occasion.
