Shibuya Song was a bit outpaced on the sharper track at Southwell on Thursday but once again finished the race strongly and we will endeavour to find another race for her on a more galloping track on her favoured good ground in the coming weeks.

Roody Toody did not find a lot in the straight having been stepped up in trip at Kempton and unfortunately has not progressed from her promising runs as a two-year-old.

Fighting Poet and Bluenose Belle are both entered next week at Brighton and Kempton – tracks they have won on and hopefully they can be competitive again as they are in good form at home.

Delighted to attend the Racing Foundation conference at Ascot on Wednesday morning.  There were some excellent speakers discussing social licence, a topic that will be more prevalent within the sport in the coming years.  It was wonderful to see so many young people attending and speaking with enthusiasm for the future of the sport.

In the evening before saddling Roody Toody, Unibet very kindly sponsored the racing at Kempton in aid of Heros.  As a Trustee of the charity, it was so good to see money being raised for this great cause and support from Adlestrop owners in the process.  Heros patron Harry Redknapp added colour and humour to the evening and it is so good to see the charity getting the recognition deserved for their good work.

Tomorrow there is a fascinating contest for the Arc at Longchamp.  An open contest with Andre Fabre and Aiden O’Brien having plenty of chances with their runners.  Japan is gaining more and more dominance within the international flat racing scene and they would have a chance of finally winning the race having tried on many occasions with Shin Emperor.  There are many chances and it’s a race probably to watch rather than invest in.
