Worked a few of the flat string this morning including Bluenose Belle and Fighting Poet who will hopefully have engagements in the next week or two. Both horses have created plenty of fun in the past for their owners and hopefully will continue to do so over the coming months.
Well done to the British Olympic equestrian teams in eventing and showjumping who have done their country proud in winning Gold medals. Once again it emphasises the incredible talent and skills of this country across all equestrian sports – something we should all be proud of.
Looking forward to this year’s National Racehorse Week which takes place between 7th and 15th September to showcase the brilliance of those that work in the racing industry and give the thoroughbred such a rewarding life. If you haven’t booked your visit yet, you can do so here www.nationalracehorseweek.uk
Delighted to attend Goodwood on Thursday which will always be the prettiest racecourse in the world. The view across the South Downs on a sunny day is unbeatable and the course was at it’s glorious best.
Very pleased to see Kieran Shoemark ride a Group winner for John Gosden yesterday at the course. Kieran has come in for some unfair criticism and as John Gosden points out, has simply just not had the rub of the green this season but hopefully Free Wind will give him another Group victory today.
Sad to hear the news of the death of David Hillyard. David had shares in horses with us in our early days and was not only great fun but intelligent and visionary in his role of managing director of Racecourse Holdings Trust.
