Two runners at Stratford this evening with Ned Cash running in the novices hurdle at 5.55pm and Organdi in the three miles three furlong handicap chase at 7.30pm. Ned settled better last time at Warwick and hopefully will continue to do so with more experience.
Organdi has been a stable star and will hopefully have her ground today in what looks a competitive staying event. She found Fakenham too sharp for her on her last run but will hopefully get into a rhythm today with Adam Wedge onboard.
Elfride (pictured) ran her usual game race at Ffos Las on Thursday but found the drying ground against her and we will see what the weather does before deciding on her next run. With conditions in her favour she will be competitive and she certainly has plenty of stamina.
Mostly Mozart is declared in the 2.15pm at Nottingham tomorrow – a one mile maiden. He is a well-bred son of Nathaniel who shows promise at home and will undoubtedly strengthen in time but will hopefully come on for the experience.
Delighted to attend to the Oaks yesterday along with the King and Queen. It was great to see Dermot Weld win the Oaks once again on a track that he rode the amateur Derby winner on in 1975 – a race I remember well.
An open Derby today and Euphoric looks to be the each-way bet in will hopefully be a memorable race.
