It appears that Six Blue may still have a breathing problem despite having had an operation, as she didn’t finish her race again at Kempton last week having pulled hard early on.  We will investigate this further as she has plenty of ability at home.

Bluenose Belle found all sorts of trouble in running in the amateur rider handicap at Wolverhampton and Simon Walker was not hard on her once knowing she was beaten.  We will possibly step her up in trip on the all-weather if the ground continues to be on the soft side.

I attended Newmarket Sales on Thursday and Friday and was pleased to return with new ones in Express Train and Aajej (pictured).

Express Train is a winning sprinter from Andrew Balding’s yard who won at Leicester last year.  A four-year-old by Invincible Spirit looks the type to provide a bit of fun this summer for his new syndicate.

Aajej has the size and scope to jump hurdles and fences and has shown plenty of stamina in his races and looks a useful dual-purpose type who will hopefully strengthen in time.

We are looking forward to our Queston of Sport on Thursday 19th February in aid of the Hunt Family Fund.  If you have not already done so, please book your places as soon as possible. If you don’t have a full team we can put you in one.

We have now opened bookings to non-members of The Adlestrop Club for our ‘Evening of Cheltenham Festival Memories and Fancies’ in Adlestrop Village Hall on Friday 27th February.  Choc Thornton is joining Gordon Clarkson and myself and inevitably there will be some funny stories and plenty of useful information for the Festival ahead.  Please book your places soon as this event always sells out.
