Mattie Ross runs at Worcester today in the three mile handicap hurdle run at 4.20pm. With the recent rain hopefully the ground will be fine for her. She won well at Market Rasen last time out but has gone up six pounds for that victory and this is a more competitive event. However she appears in good form at home and Finn Lambert takes off a valuable three pounds.
Fighting Poet did have an entry at Ffos Las on Wednesday but we will give that race a miss and wait until next week at Bath as he prefers more time between his races. We look forward to him building on his excellent second at Epsom and continuing to give the Adlestrop Club some great days.
Delighted to visit owner/breeder Sue Welch last week. Sue has bred many winners over the years although has now retired. It was great to see our wonderful mare Giovanna who is 23 but looks in great fettle. It is always both fun and fascinating to go around the youngstock and we look forward to her continuing to supply plenty of winners for us in the future.
We are at present syndicating the last two shares in one of Sue’s homebreds, a lovely Jack Hobbs mare from one of Sue’s most successful families (pictured enjoying her summer holiday). This athletic five-year-old looks to have an exciting future. More details HERE.
