We have declared Fighting Poet in the 8.45pm at Lingfield tomorrow evening. He has run well over course and distance before and will hopefully put up a competitive performance for The Adlestrop Club. He’s in good form at home and Kaiya Fraser takes the ride claiming five pounds.
Ned Cash settled at bit better at Stratford in the novices hurdle on Saturday evening and Adam Wedge reported that hopefully he will become more competitive over a bit further in time.
Organdi, although winning the best turned out and looking magnificent as ever, never travelled in the handicap chase and Adam Wedge wisely pulled her up. She maybe showing signs of being in season which would explain it but we will see how she is over the next few days before deciding on her future. She has been great fun for the Beautiful People syndicate over the years.
Mostly Mozart (pictured) was green at Nottingham yesterday but stayed on in the straight and will come on for the experience and looks the type to improve with age.
The Derby was certainly a memorable race with Voyage unseating Pat Dobbs leaving the stalls and showed plenty of field to lead the field past the line. However City Of Troy bounced back in great style to silence his doubters. A great run from the Fanshawe trained Ambiente Friendly and the race lived up to it’s billing.
Delighted to see the racecourse engaging with the local community more this year, especially with local students singing the National Anthem. Hopefully Epsom racecourse can build on this and bring the Epsom Derby back as the centre piece of the summer flat season.
