It was great to welcome so many owners to the gallops on Saturday for our monthly gallop get together.  Visitors enjoyed breakfast baps and watched two lots working on the gallops.  There were many favourable comments with how the horses were looking and hopefully we will have a few entries coming up in the next week or two.

I was delighted to attend Cheltenham on Friday to celebrate the press room being named in honour of our great friend Alastair Down.  As everyone would agree, there has been no finer racing writer in the sport’s history and many friends, colleagues and supporters were in attendance to honour the day.  It was great to catch up with Ted Walsh who flew over especially for the occasion.  Ted is great company and you don’t have to look too far to see where his son gets his many gifts from.

When being interviewed, Alastair was asked about his greatest Cheltenham moment and he said he thought Dawn Run’s Gold Cup win was a highlight.  So pleased we were in agreement and that I was present for the great victory.

Off to Newmarket sales again this week to try and expand the string further.  We have had quite a bit of luck at this sale in the past and hopefully we can find a winner or two.
