Things hardly went right at Uttoxeter yesterday with Iron Horse getting bumped at the first fence and then Adam Wedge admitting that wherever he went he found trouble during the race.  Adam said he may have needed the race on that sort of ground and thought it best to put a line through the performance and look forward to him being more competitive on his next run.

Rossbeigh Strand jumped and travelled nicely at the front of the field until three out, when unfortunately his palate displaced and he faded quickly with Adam sensibly pulling him up before the last.

It is sometime since he had his wind op and we will endeavour to re do it and I am sure if we can sort this issue out, he will be competitive in future and may well go chasing on his next run.

Thank you to everyone who was so supportive of the Auction of Promises on Friday evening which was in aid of various wonderful charities.  It emphasised the generosity of many of our owners and villagers.  One of the beneficiaries will be our wonderful village hall, which is the scene for so many great events for our yard.

Our next event is on Friday 8th December at 7pm – our ‘Desert Orchid Evening’.  We are delighted to welcome David Elsworth, Colin Brown and Simon Sherwood to talk about one of the most popular horses in the history of the sport.

We will be raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.  David Elsworth is particularly keen on this charity as Steve Jobar – rider of his first Festival winner Heighlin, is suffering from the dreadful disease.  A few tickets are available to please be in touch if you wish to join us on the evening.
