The Last Drop really didn’t enjoy the very heavy ground at Uttoxeter on Friday and Finn Lambert looked after her once she was beaten.  We will look for a similar race on better ground soon as she certainly has the ability to be competitive when conditions suit.

Neeps And Tatties and Swift Jet both run at Huntingdon today.  Tatty runs in the mares novices hurdle at 12.20pm and there are 15 runners including the favourite who won Tatty’s previous race.  Hopefully she will settle a bit better wearing a hood today as she has shown plenty of promise in both her races.

Swift Jet makes his chase debut in the three mile handicap chase run at 12.50pm.  He was a pleasing third in his last race and very much has the make and shape of a chaser.  He has schooled well at home and hopefully chasing will suit him, although it is a competitive contest today.

Mostly Mozart (pictured) is declared in the 8pm at Wolverhampton – the two mile handicap.  Having reared before coming out of the stalls in his last race, hopefully he is better behaved on this occasion as he was not beaten that far.

We won’t have any runners on Boxing Day but a few hopefully in the following days with both Agent Argylle, Smile Back, Tech That and Hidden Target being given entries at Wetherby, Leicester and Doncaster respectively.

It was great to have so many Adlestrop Club members in attendance on Saturday morning to view the gallops before breakfast rolls and mince pies.  The staff made a great effort to dress up festively and it was good to see the horses work so well being ridden by Christmas trees and elves.
