Mostly Mozart runs today in the 1.55pm at Bath – the two mile amateur riders handicap. Delighted our amateur Delphi Parkinson is onboard who rides him plenty at home (pictured). Hopefully the step up in trip and the softer ground will help him as he has run well on the track before.
Fighting Poet found the ground softer than described at Brighton on Thursday and although travelling into the race well with two to run, he was unable to pick up on the ground. We will now try him on the all-weather before he has a winter break. He has given the Adlestrop Club a lot of fun once again this summer and we look forward to him doing so again next year.
A brilliant day of racing on Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday – once again proving that although prize money continues to be an issue both domestically and Internationally, British racing has the best taking on the best and thanks to some decent ground, there was a mixture of class and unpredictability to entertain both racing fans and others.
