Swift Jet has been declared in the 12.20pm at Ludlow on Wednesday – a conditional jockeys handicap hurdle over three miles. He has shown useful form over course and distance in the past but got stuck in the mud at Uttoxeter recently. Although rain is on the way, it is hoped the ground will not get too soft for him on this well draining track. Finn Lambert takes the ride and Swift Jet will wear cheek pieces in order to help him travel through the race better. Chasing will very much be his game but with no suitable opportunities available for him at present, this looks a good option race for him.
Sumatran Tiger found the ground too soft for her at Doncaster on Friday and we may well give her a break now until the spring in order for her to run on her favoured good going. She has run well on her previous starts over hurdles for us when conditions suited and I am sure there is a lot of fun to be had with her in the future.
Manalishi was rather deliberate over hurdles on his debut at Doncaster on Saturday. He had been schooling well at home and we are sure with a bit more practice he will fine. He made great headway in the straight to finish third behind a very useful winner and I am sure he will give the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate plenty of excitement in the future.
Smile Back jumped and travelled well in the two and a half mile mares hurdle at Leicester yesterday finishing second, only to be beaten by the well-handicapped favourite. Our mare settled a lot better on this occasion and will continue to give the Somedays Here Partnership plenty of fun in the future I am sure. She has the scope to jump fences but we will stick to hurdles for the foreseeable future.
Shibuya Song (pictured) has been entered in the Goffs Online sale for breeding stock this week which starts on Thursday 4th. She has won on the flat and over hurdles and is a good looking mare with a nice pedigree. Hopefully there will be interest in her to be a broodmare as I am sure she is very capable of breeding plenty of winners. Her sales page can be viewed HERE
